Meet the Principals and Team at Milagro del Mar
Carolyn and Roger Keeling, the founders and managing principals of Milagro del Mar Beach & Golf Resort, made a permanent move to Nicaragua in 2007 with their daughter, Claire, three dogs, three cats and a bird.
Roger and Carolyn Keeling
Roger and Carolyn Keeling have extensive individual and combined experiences that now are devoted to the vision and development of Milagro del Mar. Roger serves as President and Chief Executive Officer, while Carolyn is Vice-President of Operations.
Roger has more than 25 years of financial and business experience, having served as controller of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta-Scottish Rite, executive vice president of Hillard Development Corporation, and chief financial officer of Vencor-Atlanta. In these capacities, he was responsible for fiscal operations, including construction and renovation projects. Roger attended the University of Kentucky, where he studied architecture and accounting, and was co-captain of his varsity baseball team. He holds a B.S. in accounting and an M.B.A. from the University of Louisville.
An Atlanta native, Carolyn received a B.A. degree, cum laude, from Wake Forest University and a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Prior to moving to Nicaragua, she held management positions in various businesses, including serving as director of Piedmont Craftsmen, one of the Southeast's largest galleries.
Together, Roger and Carolyn founded Hunter Blair Homes in Atlanta in 1995, which produced custom homes that combined distinctive architecture and unparalleled craftsmanship. The highly successful company was recognized throughout the region for its customer service and ability to offer a range of services, from initial design to interior styling to complete construction. In recognition of its success, Hunter Blair Homes was included on Southern Living Magazine’s Annual List of Top 100 Custom Builders in the U.S., and among Builder Magazine’s Top 100 U.S. Homebuilders.
Since relocating to Nicaragua in 2007, Roger has been active on the board of directors of the Association of Nicaraguan Investors and Developers (ANID), an organization founded for the purpose of instilling ethics and professionalism in the Nicaraguan development profession through communication, organization and education of its members. He also is involved with the Hope & Development Foundation, Community REfund and SCORE International, and is a founding sponsor of the International Baseball Academy of Central America.
Carolyn is a founding partner of NicaBella, an interior design company based in Nicaragua, serves as executive director of the Hope & Development Foundation and is actively involved in the International Baseball Academy of Central America.
Roger and Carolyn have actively sought financial partners and proven professionals who now comprise the team that with them is driving the future of Milagro del Mar and other related activities.
Patrick Hiebert is a principal in the MIlagro del Mar holding company, TKG International, and, in addition to the overall effort, is focused individually on the development of Milagro Verde, an eco-community within Milagro del Mar.
A native of Canada, Patrick is a successful entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in building corporations from the ground up, including two successful software companies that he subsequently sold. During a family vacation to Nicaragua in 2007, Patrick recognized the country’s beauty and opportunity, and immediately took steps to become involved in its sustainable development. He acquired considerable land holdings and, as part of that process, became acquainted with Carolyn and Roger Keeling. Their shared visions encompassed creating a world-class resort while giving back to the local community and having as low an impact on the environment as possible, which led to a working relationship. In addition to his development activities, Patrick has also worked to put numerous individuals through post-secondary education, build homes for those in need, and assist budding entrepreneurs to start or grow their own companies in Nicaragua.
Patrick believes strongly in sustainable living and is focused on the Milagro Verde eco-friendly community where he foresees all the components of self-sustainable, low-impact living will come together.

A native of Idaho, Angela serves as co-manager of Milagro Concierge, the on-site concierge and rental management service at Milagro del Mar. Her constant objective, as she puts it, is to provide exceptional service to both owners and guests, and build ongoing relationships in the process.
